Meaning and Direction of Death Education

Abstract
Death is a topic that causes extreme emotional stress to many human beings. But death is usually ignored in human life even it is an unavoidable fact of human life. Death education means an education that prepares a person to face the hour of death and future death. The subjects of death education are from children and the aged and from the healthy people and the person who are dying and his family. The contents of death education include meaning of death, cultural and religious aspect of death, psychological and emotional reaction to death, meaning of death and life, dying process, grief and bereavement, social issues related to human death, and hospice care. A person may encounter death at any stage of life. Death education in this sense develops a person¡¯s psychological readiness to face the emotions related to death. And also death education will help in their reflections concerning the human life.
